Planning the Future:
Endowment Funds that Give a Lasting Gift
Endowment Gifts are welcome by donating directly to these current funds or contact the WCM to create a new fund. These endowment funds were created to ensure the continuation of the Conservatory's mission to provide musical education. Building our endowment plays an important role in developing long term stability for future students.
- Wausau Conservatory of Music Fund (1991)
An endowment designed to provide quality arts education through a comprehensive and flexible curriculum designed to meet the needs of all ages. The fund supports the school with the interest from this fund. Donations can be made at the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin where this fund is held. Click here to donate online to the Conservatory's fund at the Community Foundation. - Caroline S. Mark Endowment Fund (2003)
Through a gift through Caroline Mark estate, the endowment funds provide a permanent source of income for the needs of the WCM. The principal is held in perpetuity and, although unrestricted funds are important in maintaining a fiscally healthy school, income from endowment funds can be designated according to the donor 's wishes. Endowment Scholarship Funds
Tuition Assistance Scholarships are given out based on applying through financial application. In 2007-2008 WCM gave out over $40,000. Revenue comes from endowment earnings from some endowment funds, from Rose Sale, Una Notte Bella, donations and a portion of the fund drive.
- Bellamy Hamilton Scholarship Fund (2005) provides financial scholarships to current students of Wausau Conservatory of Music.
- The Lawrence and Frances Egdahl Scholarship Fund (2003) given as a gift in their estate plan, the Egdahls developed this scholarship fund to give to individuals in financial need. It was their wish to have the Conservatory use community spirit and community giving as guideposts to determine scholarship winners.
- The Millie Fussfeld Endowment Fund (2003) was given through a bequest in a will. The Conservatory of Music Board of Directors established this fund to use for scholarships and each year the fund will support students who need financial assistance to study at the Conservatory.

Donations given directly and donor selects scholarship winner for current students of WCM.
- Mary E Dudley Scholarship (2004) - Restricted piano scholarship
College Scholarships
Awarded to a graduating WCM student.
- Barbara A Lattimer Scholarship Endowment Fund
This scholarship is awarded to a college freshman who has undertaken vocal music at the Conservatory and is enrolling as a vocal music or vocal theatre major. - Thurow Vocal Scholarship
Through a generous contribution from Jack and Susan Szmanda, a scholarship is awarded to a college freshman who has studied voice at the Conservatory and is a freshman majoring in vocal music or music theatre.
