Our Programs
Why study Music?
A profound question, indeed. Music educates us with creativity, cultural history, listening to each other and more importantly, working with each other. But, let's face it - music is fun to perform and to listen to! The arts prepare our children and citizens to be creative, to imagine and ultimately, to be better in whatever professional they aspire to. One only has to think of many of the world's greatest inventors and scientists such as Albert Einstein and DaVinci -- many had substantial background and experience in the musical arts. Music helps to organize the brain and thought passages and this is important whether the performer or listener is going into business, the sciences or the arts. Music teaches us the desire to pursue knowledge. Music is essential to expressing our humanity. Music offers us a lens through which to learn about our community, our world and ourselves. Music gives vision and voice to our challenges and triumphs, our fears and aspirations. Music fosters creativity and brings with it the innovators of the next generation. Changed lives...redirected energies...creative sparks that foster learning, exploring, understanding, empathizing - THAT's the value of the study of music.

School Partnerships
The Wausau Conservatory of Music has a outreach program with several school systems in the Central Wisconsin area. WCM sends some our supurb faculty to the schools to work directly with students. In this way, we hope to improve the schools' music programs through additional opportunities for students.
