What can I say about this piece? Once I realized the case was not sound enough to support my initial plan of doing tile mosaics, I had a bit of a struggle getting started. I'm not musically inclined and had no inner frame of reference to go from. Since the cover was almost completely off when I received it, it was an easy decision to go with the shadowbox idea. When the papier-mâché hand fell off my shelf right in front of me, from where it had been sitting for quite some time, the project took on a life of its own.
When the musician's fingers bring the notes to life, the beads represent the notes made visible... if my ears could see.
