Mark Mittlesteadt has been painting professionally since 1984. Early in his career, Mittlesteadt painted pet portraits, and did murals on motorcycle tanks, helmets, and vehicles. As his reputation grew throughout the Midwest at small art shows, his interest in biology, zoology, and the outdoors, and he became more inspired to include environmental subjects in his art. His nature inspired contributions included works to groups like Duck's Unlimited, Timber Wolf Preservation Society, Whitetails Unlimited, Canadian Conservation Stamp programs. In 2007, Mark was asked to paint two large murals in a private museum in Montana, and decided to return to painting fulltime in the art studio he designed himself, where he works on everything from graphics on vehicles, large murals, and more traditional mediums.
