Inspired by nature, rock 'n roll, and my personal affection for interesting rocks, Hard-Rock Guitar, features a river rock motif accented with genuine stones collected from the shores of Lake Superior, the Smoky Mountains, the Ozarks, and our own. Wisconsin River. These rocks, just like the many genres of music found throughout- the U.S., lend their own special touch to the uniqueness of the Hard-Rock Guitar. Dedicated to all you Rock Hounds, Rock-a-Billies, and Rock 'n Rollers, this Hard-Rock Guitar is for you!

Nancy's Background: Primarily a plein-air painter, my art is a continuous journey in the exploration, of, light, color, and theme. Painting from life draws me in more intimately with the subject matter and the subtle nuances found in nature. Back in the studio, I build upon my outside observations and studies and experiment more freely with color and composition.
Creative journaling and experimenting with other art materials brought me to the concept of the Hard-Rock Guitar. My family and I enjoy traveling, and I have a tendency to pick up interesting leaves, shells and other objects discovered on our jaunts. I keep them in my studio for inspiration. Sometimes they become the springboard for a whole series of paintings, and, as in the case of Hard-Rock Guitar they become part of the art itself.
It is this ongoing curiosity with the visual and the tactile, the push and pull of materials, and the physical need to be creative that makes my job as an artist interesting, hard, fun and extremely rewarding.
