- Performances: Appeared on public radio series, Live from the Chazen; and travels to St. Lucia, West Indies, with the Good News Project where she was featured as a guest artist with the St. Lucia School of Music. In May 2003, Bette was a duo pianist with Dr. Lily Brissman for the Central Wisconsin School of Ballet performance of Camille Saint-Saens'Carnival of the Animals. In Summer 2003, she served as guest lecturer and clinician at the Goshen College Piano Workshop and Academy, Goshon, Indiana
She has had extensive study with Marylene Dosse; has attended Oberlin Conservatory of Music Summer Piano Institute; was a student of Sanford Margolis and Sedmara Ruststein; and more recently studied with Charles Goan. Bette is the director of the adult choir director at St. Michael Church and at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Mrs. Close joined the faculty of the Conservatory in 1985.
